It is 22:15 and I am just sitting down for dinner but having the pleasure of watching the Federer-Djokovic match, shown on a big screen at Federation Square!
For those who have been following my blog, they know that it takes a little effort to write after the loss of Caroline Wozniacki, in her 1st Semi finals at the Australian open, to Li Na of China!
Caroline had match point in the 2nd set but my respect and congratulations go out to Li Na who becomes the 1st Chinese woman to reach a grand slam final!
Our day started actually very good with a 9:30 warm-up on court 2 with Esther Vergeer who played 1st at 11 today against Jiske Griffioen! As Esther was starting her match, Caroline had planned her warm-up at 11!
Right after the warm-up of Caroline, I went to the court of Esther where she was leading 5-2 in the first set and saw her finish it in 2 sets 6-2 6-2! She also had a doubles match but that took place during the match of Caroline! (Which Esther won with her partner, who she beat yesterday in singles, Sharon Walraven)
Our (Mats and I) day finished with a gym workout to blow of some steam and recharge the battery!
Now enjoying some great sushi and watching the tennis! Tomorrow Maria Kirilenko will play the women’s doubles final at 3 and Esther is 3rd after 3! Much to look forward as we have also been invited to watch the match of Andy Murray versus David Ferrer!
Have a great day!
