Day 7!!! OZ Open  |

Wow that is what I have got to say as I am about to write today’s entry! Last night we ended up going to the same place as we did last Saturday! However we did not stay till the end of the concert, instead we (Mats Merkel and Claus Marten) went to a place called “the stoke house, in St Kilda” one of the best restaurants of the tournaments! (Definitely a must! Since it has an upper and lower level dining area!)

The day was structured around the 4th round match of Caroline Wozniacki (playing 1st on center court, Rod Laver arena)! We had a warm up at 9 to give her the court by herself for a good prep!

After the warm-up around 9:50, I had a meeting with Ayumi Morita and her coach to go over the schedule of the coming months and to speak about the past weeks in Australia!

Caroline went on at 11 and an hour and half later she won her match in 2 sets! She had a shaky start but was to solid for her opponent! After the match I had chance to sit down with her father and reflect on the match and several interview requests!

Also Claus Marten, Mats and I went around the outside courts to do some scouting for the next generation in the junior event, which started today!

Around 3:30 Caroline’s father and I went to the match of Kuznetsova-Schiavone to scout and prepare for Caroline’s qaurter final this coming Tuesday! After a set and 3 games we figured it would be a long match so we decided to call it a day!

In the mean time I met up with Esther for her 5 pm court appearance with Mansour Bahrami and Aisam Qureshi! They showed interest in Esther’s dominance in wheelchair tennis! I am happy to see that people have a mutual interest and want to support wheelchair tennis around the globe! (For More Photos of Esther’s court appearance, click here)

At 6:30 pm I was heading back to the hotel to help pack up the boxes of the entire product that was left over after the distribution! However, due to the fact that the match of Kuznetsova and Schiavone was still on we ended up watching it till the end (3rd set at 180 min and a final score, Schiavione winning it 16-14)

Now at around 11 pm we are on Federation square to locate a place for a quick bite!

Wow a long day at the office but we have got Caroline into the 2nd week and into her 1st Aussie quarter final of her career!
