My day started with a 7:30 run and when I arrived in the gym I saw Miss Sunshine (Caroline Wozniacki) already running on the treadmill by herself and fully focused! This dedication, discipline, and commitment has gotten her to number 1 in the world!
It is great to work along side these great champions, so I put on some great inspiring tunes on my iPod and made my daily 30 min run in a flash!
When I arrived at the site at around 9 am, I dropped off my laundry with Jeff (who has been helping the tournament with this service for over 14 years)!
Mats and I had Maria Kirilenko for a warm-up at 9:30, also her 11 am match, and Caroline Wozniacki from 10 to 11! So I was hopping from court to court and then to a match (which Maria ended up loosing to Cibelcova in 2 sets, Maria was still a bit tired due to her arrival yesterday out of Hong Kong and you could see she was not able to perform at her highest level). By the time she finished, I was on time for Caroline’s 2nd hit at 1 to 2!
During lunch I caught up with Sorana and made an assessment of whether she should play or not if she would get in as lucky looser—her stomach muscle has been bothering her since the beginning of the year but we waited till 3 and all players were going on court so no luck for Sorana!
Later today Mats and I will go for a bridge walk tonight and see the Sydney skyline from the best view in the world! Let’s see what will be on our horizon for 2011!
Looking forward to Caroline’s play tomorrow and for her to take revenge for the defeat Maria had today!
