Sir Elton John  |

10sballs.com congratulates Sir Elton John on his tireless fundraising efforts!!! Here are some more of the fantastic photos from Susan and Fred Mullane. Yes the hardworking tennis loving twosome were there too… The event was the 18th Annual WTT (World Team Tennis) Smash Hits presented by Geico… Billie Jean King and Sir Elton John were the hosts. We were so happy to see Jan-Michael Gambill, Anna Kournikova, Martina Navratilova, Andre Agassi, and Steffi Graf among others….

We called out Bud Collins on how his closet (storage facility) might be short of space based on his massive wardrobe…. Then we thought about it….he is minor league compared to Sir Elton John. Sir Elton John, can you imagine if Teddy Tingling were still around?  He would have loved you! Probably a mutual admiration society! Recently, I spoke to the one and only Gussie Moran we chatted about how much Teddy would have enjoyed being alive today… Bravo to you dear friend of tennis. And a special hello to Jan-Michael; you can still crack the hell out of the ball and look awesome doing it!

We have been remiss. We have to mention the great SOLINCO strings advertised on our site.  Simply said, they are GREAT!  We’ve tested them… Lots of each style… Even that aspect is so refreshing. They literally make every kind of string for every level player. Thanks K.T.

10sballs.com is getting really excited about the Men’s end of year event (London O2 arena) presented by Barclays.  Can’t wait to see that photo of the handsome final eight. Can’t wait to see the dubs guys. Hope they photograph them all together. Can remember some dumb old days when they played the dubs event separately and ATP president didn’t even show up… I love tennis…but…It’s sometimes a frustrating sport to love. The rules change depending on your ranking and/or who represents you. Or even the CEO of a big three-letter firm can break all the rules and just be told. Oh please don’t do that again or something to that effect….

Tennis  needs  a commissioner.  Our players need true representatives that only have their best wishes in their interest…

If there is to be growth in the sport we need the Tennis Channel as part of everyone’s sports package.  Tennis in the schools. Tennis mainstream. The New York Post always flashes Andy Roddick… Why? He lives in NYC! And he’s married to Brooklyn Decker ….our sport has exciting people playing it! We need to market it. Thank you Corona beer. Thank you Larry Elison…thank you BNP Paribas. Davidoff. Solinco strings. Adidas. Nike.  K Swiss. Fila. Head. Wilson. Babolat. Nick Bollettieri. Saddlebrook. Prince. Orange Coach. Tennis Channel. Geico. My brain is tired. But that’s a good start. …  All you solid supporters of our sport.

Our Brits still keep  promising to invade our site… Hurry …. We are ready.  Hurry we miss our Muzzy and Bally updates. (I’m running low on fluff and filler ) and If Jamie is still tweeting please remind him it’s called honeymoon….

If you haven’t watched our videos, there are some choice ones there. Interesting to hear Robert Redford discussing Pancho Gonzales. There are so many great ones. Thanks Dustin. Hey shout out down under. Great to hear from Caroline and Wayne Arthurs. Wayne Arthurs had the best lefty serve ever. Caroline and Wayne had just enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Kooyong Club in Melbourne. It was the club president’s lunch. Pat Cash was a guest speaker some attending were  Ian Barclay and the always charming “Fitzy” John Fitzerald…. Wayne is very involved in the future of Australian tennis. Go Auzzie. Auzzie. Auzzie.

We close with a quote from our dear Eleanor Preston…. Or part of a quote…. Or a misquote. El said something to the effect that tennis is played from Kalamazoo to Timbuktu….. So if my writing is kind of regional I do apologize…. Some lobs go higher than others…..

TENNIS GOSSIP FROM THE 2018 U.S. OPEN • WTA | ATP • FEDERER HAS PLAYED 1,424 MATCHES WITHOUT A “RETIREMENT”

The only way to describe this U.S. open is soaking wet without raining... It's really hard to play tennis when your socks are soaking wet and you are "sloshing" in your shoes. Your shoes get really heavy when they get wet.
