Tennis is not the only thing in Mahesh Bhupathi’s future. Bhupathi has been successful on the tennis court, having won 11 Grand Slam tournament doubles titles.
But the 36-year-old hopes to make his mark in the corporate world through Globosport, his management company for athletes and movie stars. He already represents India’s top women’s tennis player, Sania Mirza, and Bollywood film star Saif Ali Khan. Now he’s hoping to sign India’s top male singles tennis player, Somdev Devvarman.
Bhupathi says he plans on retiring after the 2012 Olympic Games in London and focus fulltime on his Mumbai-based company, whose primary purpose is to arrange sponsorship deals for clients with big Indian and multinational brands.
