With Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin back to fine form after a couple years rest, it seems only fitting that Xavier Malisse wants to join the Belgium party at the top. After being sidelined with injuries for the past two years, it is good to see X back to the form of a top 20 player.
By beating John Isner and this year’s Wimbledon finalist, Tomas Berdych, en route to the semi-finals in Washington this week, he has proven that a solid game and experience can take you far.
“Those two years took a while and [he’s] been trying to look at [the] positive.”
So what will it take for the Belgian to remain on top?
Malisse says “it’s a matter of physical stuff now, but it’s so much more satisfying and [he is] enjoying every match.”
Maybe if he continues to work hard and for good luck sake wear his 10sballs.com patch (seen wearing in Washington this week), he can continue to have weeks like this one, for weeks, months, and years to come.
