Meet "Open Tennis" Host Andres Borowiak  |

Andres Borowiak, host of the tennis blog radio show “Open Tennis”,  has a long history in tennis.

Born in Berkeley, CA and raised at professional tennis tournaments, he was surrounded by the game at an early age.  His father, Jeff Borowiak, played No. 1 singles on one of the greatest collegiate tennis team of all time for UCLA, and earned a career-high world ranking of  No. 20, with wins over Bjorn Borg, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Rod Laver, Arthur Ashe, Ilie Nastase and Stefan Edberg.  His mother Sheila Campion has been involved in different capacities with professional tennis tournaments for over 25 years.

Andres was a player in his own right playing for Whittier College — a competitive NAIA school.  Even before college Andres knew he wanted his career to be in the tennis industry.

He worked operations gigs as young as 12 years old at some of the major ATP tennis tournaments in the United States.  He has worked coast to coast from the US Open to the BNP Paribas Open, including a four-year stint as the Director of Operations at the former Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas.  Expanding his repertoire, Andres continues to direct USTA Pro-Circuit  events, national junior tournaments, internet doubles championships, and more.

Andres is excited about the new “Open Tennis” radio show where he can promote the sport and introduce listeners to pivotal personalities in the tennis industry.

Sam Querrey, coach Wayne Bryan, father and first coach of twins Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan, and Tennis Channel founder Steve Bellamy have all appeared as guests on “Open Tennis.” Tune in weekly to hear Andres’ views on tennis as well as interviews with some of tennis’ most prominent figures.
